Patriots in Petticoats
Common Threads Quilting is extremely proud to announce a new block of the month program, Patriots in Petticoats. This quilt was created by our own Denice Lipscomb, using Windham Fabrics' new line, the Hanna Wallis Collection. Windham searched through the archives of the Daughters of the American Revolution to reproduce beautiful and elegant fabrics used by women over 170 years ago.
Along with receiving the fabric and patterns for your blocks, you will also receive the inspiring stories of different women who were influential during the American Revolution. Those of you who join the Block of the Month program through Common Threads will also be receiving a few little surprises with your blocks. For more information about this beautiful quilt, and to see larger versions of each of the individual blocks, click here.
Other New Block of the Month Programs
Shivers and Shakes - Shivers and Shakes is a block of the month using a Pearl Louise design. The applique is easy enough for a beginner, and the quilt is just adorable. The program runs for thirteen months, beginning in September. To see the entire quilt, along with large versions of the first few blocks and notes on the changes we've made to the border design, click here.
Spring Pleasures - This lovely quilt comes from Cherie Ralston's book, Under the Stars. The book is required to complete the quilt, and is sold separately. The program includes fabric for your quilt top and binding, and will run for eight months starting in October. For more information, click here.
New Fabric
Baltimore Album - Mary Koval has designed this gorgeous line for Windham Fabrics. We know many of you have been waiting anxiously for it to arrive! The panel design represents one particular quilt selected by Mary. In this quilt the center block is the only monument block to date to surface with Lady Liberty at its top. To see the entire line, click here.
Luna Notte - This collection by 3 Sisters for Moda is a lovely mixture of patterns and florals all reminiscent of walks in a moonlight garden. To see the entire line, click here.
Paisley Panache - Elegance and romance are words that come immediately to mind with this new line by Rosemarie Lavin for Windham Fabrics. To see the entire line, click here.
New Kits
Picket Fence Seasons - This kit is from a pattern by Country Quilts. It uses both piecing and applique to produce a wall-hanging quilt that measures 42" x 42". For more information about this kit, click here.
