I know we're a little early for a newsletter, but we have some news we're VERY excited to share with you! Denice has just finished her newest block of the month design. Summer Song uses the Cotton Club line by Paula Barnes, with a few Bonnie Blue fabrics and a handful of Jo Morton pieces. You can get a closer look at the fabrics we're using by visiting the Summer Song page on our website. This program will begin in October and will run for 12 months. The finished quilt measures approximately 80" x 80". To sign up for this wonderful block of the month, click here.

Clara's Calling

We're also very excited to announce our participation, along with Checker Distributors and a number of independent quilt shops, in Clara's Calling, a group established by Master Sergeant Clara Vargas with the goal of educating over 4,000 widowed Afghan women in their community how to sew so they can do for themselves and not just depend on charity from governments from around the world or worse, rely on terrorists for survival at the cost of human rights and any sort of freedom. Their hope is to help these women to learn how to provide the basic necessities for themselves and their children. To find out more and see how you can help, visit our Clara's Calling page here.

Shop Hops

When Emily Mason gives in to the impulse to buy an old quilt in a small town antique shop, she has no idea that her decision will plunge her into the middle of a decades-old mystery.

Emily is a big city girl, used to bright lights and constant activity. So visiting the tiny town of Trinity Oaks, Texas, is a bit of a culture shock. To Emily, Trinity Oaks looks like a movie version of the perfect Anywhere, USA, but small towns can have big secrets. As she delves into the hidden past of Trinity Oaks' most prominent families, Emily will discover that the town's perfect surface hides tragedy and, unlike the movies, in Trinity Oaks the hero doesn't always win.

Join us for the 14th Annual North Texas Quilt Shop Hop and read all about Emily's adventures in our Shop Hop book, Quilted Memories. The Hop begins September 8th and runs through September 10th.

And make plans to be in Texas during the month of September for the first ever Texas Statewide Shop Hop, Quilt Across Texas. Over 90 shops in eight different regions of Texas will be participating. There will be statewide and regional prizes awarded to hoppers, and Moda has designed an amazing line just for us! If you're in Texas any time from September 1st through September 30th, you won't want to miss it!
