Happy New Year! It's already 2012, and I can't believe how the time is flying by! We hope you all had a wonderful month of December filled with love and laughter. Now it's time to think a little bit about yourself, and boy to we have some wonderful things to show you! We have two new block of the month quilts, three new fabric lines, and a couple of other fun programs. So let's get started!

Women of Courage - Common Threads is proud to present the Women of Courage block of the month, designed for Windham Fabrics. This is a 12 month program that will begin in June. The program includes your pattern and fabric for your entire quilt top and binding. Each month you will also receive stories of incredible women from our past who have made a difference in our world. The finished quilt measures approximately 98" x 98". To sign up for this program, click here.

Margreta - This beautiful quilt uses a beautiful bird toile from Jo Morton in the center. The program will run for 14 months beginning in March. The price includes the pattern and the fabric for your entire quilt top including borders, sashing and binding. To sign up for this block of the month, click here.
 
For backings we are recommending pieces from the Carolina line by Jo Morton for Andover. Any of the black or brown pieces would work very well. You will need 9 yards of fabric to back your quilt.

What is the Patchwork Express? The North Texas Patchwork Express is a two day trip full of fun and shopping with a group of other quilters to visit these seven wonderful quilt shops!

Buses will take off on Saturday, June 23rd at 8:00am, and return in the evening on Sunday, June 24th. You'll enjoy two days packed full of fun, friends, and shopping. Registration includes your transportation in a luxury coach, hotel accommodations based on double occupancy, food, a custom printed tote bag filled with over $25 in quilting supplies, and a truly fun quilting experience with your friends.
 
Also, if you register with Common Threads and pay before March 15th, 2012, your name will be added to a drawing for a $50 gift certificate from our store. Prairie Women Sewing Circle Journey 3 - If you enjoyed the first two Prairie Women journeys, you won't want to miss this one. The club is being offered both in-store and by mail. Each month you will receive a pattern and historical anecdotes of women on the prairie. Come learn quilting and history with Candy Loveland. Program runs for 6 months, and price is $35.00 for the entire program. In shop class is the last Saturday of each month, and begins January 28th. In the process of completing inventory last month, we also discovered a single remaining set in two of our closed block of the month programs. We have one final set of blocks for Emporia Rose and one final set of blocks for Woodland Creatures. The spots in these two block of the months will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. You must email or call the shop to sign up for either one of these programs.
