Newsletter August 10
August 10, 2009
August. In Texas even the word conjures up visions of temperatures so high that you can see the shimmer of the heat waves rising from the ground. So it's nice to have something to keep us busy inside where it's cool! To that end, we have four new fabric lines and four new quilt kits to show you, as well as a replay of an old favorite.
New Fabric
|
Patchwork Heritage - This line was designed by Judie Rothermel for Marcus Brothers in conjunction with the Heritage Center of Lancaster County Pennsylvania. Click here to see all the fabrics in this great line. |
Amalie - Reproduction expert, Darlene Zimmerman has decided to design a new 19th Century reproduction line for Kaufman. We think you'll agree that this American Civil War era fabric collection is gorgeous. Click here to see the entire line. |
Hints of Prints - Kaufman also has the Hints of Prints line out. These fabrics work beautifully with the Amalie Collection, or could coordinate with many other fabrics. As the name suggests, there's only a hint of a print in this line, which makes them wonderful to use. To view the entire line, click here. |
Kits
We got some really positive feedback on the way we have our Block of the Month page set up, so we've decided to try something similar with our Kits. You can now find all of our current kits on one page, with links to separate pages for each kit. This will allow you to see the blocks in much closer detail, and to get more information about each kit. We hope this will make your shopping decisions easier, and as always, if you have any feedback on this, or any other part of the website, please feel free to let us know.

Lee's Lexington - This beautiful quilt was designed by Paula Barnes of Bonnie Blue Quilts. We've used her Beyond Basics line by Marcus Brothers to make it. The kit contains the pattern and fabric for an 82" by 91" quilt top along with the binding. Click here for more information. |
