bbillBuffalo Bill - Early 20th century humorist and newspaperman Bill Nye once wrote of William F. "Buffalo Bill" Cody: "[He] is encircling the earth with his Wild West show. Everywhere, the fever follows his performances. Wherever he goes, high-heeled boots, lariats, tarantula juice, and hair rise to a fictitious value. Boys leave the farm to follow the show away. Picnics lose their flavor and seem flat. Climbing a shag-bark tree to fasten a swing does not seem so daring a feat as it used to... You can discover more about Buffalo Bill at www.bbhc.org.

In collaboration with The Buffalo Bill Historical Center in Cody Wyoming, Windham brings to life designs inspired by artifacts from the life of this pioneering American icon, as well as authentic reproductions from the Cody archives. See all of this fantastic line by clicking here.

mwMarie Webster - Windham fabrics is proud to feature the Marie Webster Collection inspired by the elegance and simplicity of this pioneering quilt designer of the early 20th century.

Marie Webster was an influential quilt designer of the early 1900's and the first person to write a history of quilts. An astute businesswoman, Marie, took her original floral appliqué designs, and turned them into a thriving pattern company. Marie submitted quilts which caught the eye of Edward Bok, the Arts and Crafts editor of the Ladies Home Journal, and soon after in the January 1, 1911 issue the magazine featured four of her quilts. So it was the Ladies Home Journal that launched Marie's quilt patterns into the mainstream quilt world.

Her designs were often inspired by nature and reflected her belief that beauty should be combined with practicality. The pastel coloration and unique rendering of repeat motifs lend an inviting overall sense of unity to her quilts. Create your own masterpieces with this inspired collection of fabrics.
